At breakfast in the great hall, owls fluttered through the towers' windows to greet excited students. The term was near its end, but this wave of winged messengers always created a twitter of excitement that was contagious even to the teachers...even to the Potions Master.
Snape sneered as he looked down at the note that the snow-white owl had delivered to him: Harry's owl. What now? As he unwrapped the parchment, Snape displayed his usual suspicious scowl. Down the table from him, Remus Lupin watched Snape's expression with mild curiosity.
"Meet me at the edge of the Forbidden Forest tonight at 10. I need your help with sumfin. -Hagrid"
"Humph!" snorted Snape to himself, and tucked the tattered note inside a hidden pocket on his robes. Looking up, he caught Lupin watching him and returned his gaze. Snape's face gave no clue. Shrugging, Lupin went back to his breakfast.

Hagrid paced nervously at the forest's edge, Fang at his side. As Snape approached, he slowed and watched Hagrid. Hagrid's face, contorted with worry and frustration, gave Snape pause. ~Have I ever seen Hagrid in a position to ask for MY help?, thought Snape. Dismissing the thought, Snape continued his approach.
As Snape got closer, he quickened his pace, robes billowing out behind him, a purposeful look on his face. Hagrid glanced up as he approached.
"What is it?" snarled Snape, glancing down at Fang who seemed to vibrate with excitement.
Hagrid loomed before him, clearly excited about something. "Now, I wouldn't have bother you with this if I didn't haveta, Professor-"
"Just spill it," growled Snape again, taking a half step towards Hagrid.
"It's the Weasley car, Professor Snape."
"What about it?"
"It's been in the forest for more than a year and a half. It's like a wild beast by now. But I can't tame it. Me and Fang have tried. Fang's terrified of her."
"Fang's terrified of *Winky*, Hagrid. What do you want of me?" said Snape, an intimidating tone in his voice.
"I thought you might have a potion. You know. Something to calm her so that you might capture her and return her."
Hagrid stood before Snape. Hagrid looked like a mountain, but acted more like an imp. He was digging his toe in the dirt, digging an imaginary hole as he spoke.
"Why don't you ask Remus Lupin?" replied Snape sarcastically, "He's the supposed *expert* in "Dark Arts". I'm sure he -"
"He has," interrupted Lupin.
Snape spun around in surprise to see Lupin standing not five feet behind him.
"Remus. Really!" hissed Snape, clearly perturbed by the intrusion.
Hagrid stared down at his feet trying to hide an amused look and not being very successful. Snape opened his mouth to say something when Remus stepped up and moved beside Hagrid, shouldering in between the mountain and the angry Potions Master.
"Severus, Hagrid needs us both." Remus indicated the forest before them. "Let's go in and take a look."
Snape moved his hateful gaze from Lupin to Hagrid. "I'll need my things," said Snape through gritted teeth.
"You are a good man, professor!" said Hagrid, grabbing Snape's sleeve. Me and Fang will be very grateful. The car, she's been scaring my-" Hagrid stopped suddenly, fearing he may have exposed his recent forbidden pet.
Laughing, Lupin said, "Never mind, Hagrid. We don't want to know. Let us get together what we need and we'll see what we can do."
Snape narrowed his eyes and looked down at the large hand that held his sleeve. Snape scowled back up at Hagrid's face, but Hagrid was oblivious to the implied threat. Hagrid released Snape and turned to leave. "Come on, Fang! We're gonna be all right!" exclaimed Hagrid as lumbered back to his cabin.
Snape glared at Lupin. Taking a deep breath, he blew out an exasperated breath. "It's always something, isn't it? Very well. Meet me in my dungeon in an hour. By then I should be ready. We'll come back together."
Nodding, Lupin said, "Ok, Sev." Lupin walked away from Snape and headed back to the castle. Snape watched him go and shook his head in disbelief. There would be no decent night's sleep tonight.

Hauling the duffle, Snape and Lupin approached the Forbidden Forrest once again.
"What do you have in there, Severus?" asked Lupin looking at the duffle on Snape's shoulder.
"Handcuffs," snarled Snape, "what did you think?"
Ignoring the sarcasm, Lupin pulled some parchment out of his pocket and showed it to Snape under his illuminated wand.
"I found some spells that may calm her. But only long enough for you to work your magic, so to speak." He smiled at Snape and winked.
"I'm flattered at the faith you have in me, Remus, but I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do. I'll play it by ear, I suppose."
"That's a plan?" asked Lupin.
"We'll call it 'Plan A'", growled Snape.
Lupin shot a sideways glance at Snape, rolled his eyes, and continued walking.
They had entered the forest by now and followed a narrow, leaf-lined path deep into the silent woods. Both knew the forest very well from their youth. Although he would never admit it, the Forbidden Forest a little more than intimidated Severus Snape. To Lupin, however, it was a friend. Snape let Lupin lead the way.
"Shsh!" whispered Lupin, stopping at the edge of a clearing. He held out an arm that halted his partner behind him. "Did you hear that?"
"Stop playing games," groused Snape.
"In the trees...above us!" whispered Lupin, pointing.
Holding his breath, Snape looked up. He squinted into the dark night trying to see through the tangled web of limbs above him.
"I don't see it," replied Snape, starting to feel a little vulnerable, alone in the woods with nothing to protect him from this mysterious adversary.
"It was just there, but I think it moved back," whispered Lupin. "Maybe it's behind us."
Snape stared straight ahead, gulping. "I hope not," he whispered to himself.
"THERE!" shouted Lupin and he spun around. Snape spun to look and Remus whacked Snape hard on the backside with a branch. "She's got you!" shouted Lupin.
Grabbing his butt in panic from the sting, Snape, jumped back, a terrified look on his face. Lupin fell to the ground laughing hysterically. Pointing at Snape's face, he tried twice to talk, but could not as laughter racked his body.
Snape seemed to swell with anger as he stood before his blubbering companion.
"Get up" Snape commanded between his teeth, jaw clenched.
Lupin remained seated on the ground, shaking with laughter, shaking his head, 'no'. He was too overcome with laughter to stand.
Snape reached down and grabbed Lupin by his robes and hauled him to his feet with strength that surprised them both.
"You are a hopeless prat, Lupin!" spat Snape. "I swear-"
"Careful, Severus, you're getting excited," said Lupin between sniggers. "By the way, have you been working out?"
Snape tightened his grip, lifting Lupin above his own height, a menacing scowl on his reddened face. But before he could give Lupin a piece of his mind, the area they were in was completely illuminated in a bright light.
Snape immediately released Lupin. The trees around them seemed to shake as branches and leaves fell around them like snow.
"What-" said Snape. Snape stared up into the thundering trees and backed slowly away.
Lupin grabbed his elbow. "Stay still. It's her."
Snape shot a glance at Lupin, not comprehending at first. Then he stared back at the treetops in realization. The car was above them, hovering threateningly.
The area seemed to get brighter.
"She's coming down!" exclaimed Lupin and he backed away from the clearing, pulling an astonished Snape with him. Snape bent down and snatched up his duffle just in time to move back out of the way as well.
With a gentle "thud" the red car, snarled with vines and crusted dirt, rested on the ground before them. It seemed to hum as it sat there.
Snape and Lupin stood back against the edge of the clearing staring in awe at the sight before them. The car's menacing engine suddenly slowed from a powerful rev to a low growl. Then, without warning, its passenger door swung open with a gentle click and the car sat before them, inviting them.
Lupin looked at Snape, who looked back at him. A grin slowly spread across Lupin's mischievous face.
"You've got to be kidding me," said Snape. He was trying to make his shaky voice sound stern and foreboding, but was failing miserably.
"Come on, Bubbles, let's go for a ride," suggested Lupin happily.
"Don't call me that!" spat Snape.
"Come *on*" urged Lupin, pulling Snape towards the car.
Lugging his duffle back on to his shoulder, Snape reluctantly followed Lupin as he literally hopped inside of the car. Snape climbed in beside Lupin. Snape glanced back nervously at the woods behind him, knowing he should stay.
No sooner had their butts hit the seat the car door slammed and the car rose quickly straight up into the trees. Snape dug his fingernails into Lupin's thigh as it rose.
"Easy, Sev, take it easy!" yelled Lupin, over the roar of the car.
She carried them straight up through the trees so quickly, their stomachs seemed left behind on the forest floor. The car seemed to vibrate with life beneath them. Within seconds, she reached her pre-destined altitude and began to glide though the sky high above the forest into the thick clouds, leaving the Forbidden Forest behind in an instant. Snape relaxed his grip and shot an apologetic glance in Lupin's direction.
Snape stole a peek over the side at the quickly receding grounds "Oh my God," whispered Snape.
"Isn't she grand, Severus?" asked Lupin as he started to stand and move to the back of the car.
"What are you daft? Sit down, you shit!" barked Snape, pulling Lupin back down next to him. "See what you've gotten us into this time? Just where do you think this...this *thing* is taking us?"
Lupin looked back at Snape as if the question had never occurred to him.
"Can't we just enjoy the ride, Severus?" asked Lupin. "It's not like we have a choice."
Lupin smiled at Snape who returned an ice-cold glare. Snape did not share his joy. But against his own will, Snape's scientific curiosity got the best of him. Turning a curious eye, Snape glanced over the edge of the window. "Where exactly are we? We're so high I can't tell."
Lupin watched as Snape stretched, craning to see over the edge. Snape lifted his hips up off of the seat and stretched, exposing the taunt, muscled skin on his neck. Lupin reached up and touched Snape there. He gently trailed his fingers down to the shoulder.
Snape looked back at Lupin and sat back in the seat. He looked directly at Lupin, regarding him with some mirth.
"You didn't *plan* this, did you Remus?" asked Snape, suspicion and amusement mingling in his voice.
"No," replied Lupin honestly.
"Good. Because if you would ever put me in a situation like this on purpose, I would kick your sorry ass" retorted Snape, a measured warning in his voice.
Lupin reached for him again, bumping his hand on the steering wheel.
"Sev, let's move to the back seat."
"No."
"Come on, she won't buck us out. It's cramped up here and we might bump something."
"Like what?"
"Like the shift. You know, knock it out of gear..."
She's an automatic, Remus, if you'd read up on muggles, you'd know."
"Maybe we'll bump the wheel."
"Then...sit...still," Snape snarled, stressing each word.
Lupin picked up Snape's hand and rested it on his own erection. "I *can't*," Lupin said, with meaning.
Snape's mouth dropped open ever so slightly. Snape nodded, rather numbly and carefully maneuvered around. With help, he clumsily moved to the back seat of the car as it raced across the heavens.
Lupin seemed to leap over the front seat to the back, an act that made Snape shudder with nervousness. Snape's nerves were soon stilled, however when a warm, strong hand rested firmly on his chest.
Lupin leaned forward and licked the convenient pulse point on Snape's neck and Snape squeezed his eyes shut, stifling the moan that begged to escape.
"I can feel your heart racing," Lupin breathed as his hand pressed down on Snape's lightly furred chest.
"I can't imagine why," replied Snape hoarsely.
Unfastening Snape's robes, Lupin trailed wet kisses starting at Snape's collarbone and worked teasingly slow down his sternum. Lupin took a detour to suck on erect nipples as Snape arched his body in response. Lupin kissed and licked Snape's erect cock, as he rubbed his own against Snape's knee.
"Good God, Lupin, in the back seat of Weasley's car!?" growled Snape. Snape stood up and pushed Remus back into the seat and straddled him.
Snape bent down and growled an animalistic and erotic sound and he bit Lupin on the neck. Lupin lurched, bringing his own hardness up against Snape's hand. As Snape grabbed Lupin's erection through the silky black cloth he felt the heat that throbbed there.
Snape stood up enough to allow himself to pull Remus' robe up to his waist, exposing his erect penis. Snape gripped it at the base and stroked it gently hissing words into Remus ear that made him smile.
Remus reached for Snape as well, and soon both men were thrusting mindlessly into each other's hands. As the speed of their fevered stroking increased, the car seemed to pick up speed as well. She raced wildly across the sky as streaks of light were left behind in her wake.
"Remus...too fast...she's going to fast" stammered Snape, lost in his own erotic endeavors. His whole body seemed to vibrate with passion.
"Not too fast for me," panted Lupin in reply.
As their stroking continued its dizzying spiral into oblivion, they both achieved orgasm at almost the exact same time, hands gripping the leather seats around them. Snape collapsed onto Remus. Remus pulled him all the way down against him, so that both men lay lengthwise on the back seat. They held each other entwined as they lay in a tangle on that magical seat with plenty of room to spare.
As their breathing stilled, the car's speed slowed down with them.
As they drifted off to sleep, she approached the crown of the forbidden trees and slowly descended back down into the forest.
As they slept, she rested her tires on the forest floor with a familiar thud.
As the night passed, she parked, humming gently, blowing soft heat across the sleeping men as they held each other into the night.

When Remus and Snape awoke in the back seat of the Weasley car, they carefully sat up, and looked around, realizing they had returned.
Snape and Remus got up slowly and exited the car. Each of them grimaced as achy muscles were forced into action so early in the day.
Snape stood beside the car and reached out a hand, touching the door, almost caressing it. He gently closed it.
"Uh, Severus?" teased Remus, "do you two want to be alone?"
Snape shot an irritated expression at Lupin and looked back at the car. He stepped back from it. The car revved its engines in 'goodbye' and rose quickly out of site.
Snape watched the car leave, his face still showed the same astonishment as it did the night before. He turned and faced Remus who had a quizzical look on his face.
"Weren't we supposed to do something about her, Severus?" asked Lupin.
"Oh darn," replied Snape flatly.
"Sev, she doesn't belong to us, you know."
"I think this time, Remus, we'll let her enjoy her freedom," answered Snape. "Who are we to take it away from her? Besides, she belongs to the forest."
Remus stared in amazement at Snape, stirred by Snape's surprising compassion.
"I suppose what we did last night did calm her a bit," considered Lupin, "but what about Hagrid? Won't Hagrid be angry that we didn't capture her?"
Snape put his full gaze on Lupin, humanity hinted on his face.
"Somehow, I think Hagrid will understand."
